As the representative of all panel attorneys in the district, the CJA panel representative acts as the point of contact between panel members and other components of the judicial branch (Court, Federal Public Defender, Administrative Office of the United States Courts) with respect to the CJA program. Administrative Procedures Under the CJA An overview of procedures pertaining to appointment under the CJA, including tips for witness subpoenas; authorization for experts and other services; compensation; and reimbursement. Criminal Defense Manual, 2000 Edition NEW Adapting and revising a project prepared by the Federal Community Defender Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the Federal Public Defender Office for the District of New Jersey published and distributed the first edition of the Criminal Defense Manual for the District of New Jersey in 1998. The 2000 edition replaces and revises that edition. The Criminal Defense Manual reflects the Offices objective to offer guidance, education, and support to the CJA Panel attorneys appointed to represent indigent criminal defendants in this district. |
